Very sad, but it's been great to see the outpouring of love and appreciation. My wife was just objecting to a headline/news quiz in the Seattle Times referring to Nimoy as an "actor in the cult science fiction series Star Trek." Star Trek isn't a cult classic, it's mainstream, and Nimoy was deservedly beloved. I've just been reading in These Are the Voyages Vol. 3 about how Nimoy was almost fired and replaced before third season. What a colossal blunder than would have been!
